BU Online!

Be a part of our new, online “communiversity”

Coronavirus can’t stop Bethel University.

We’re still here, building community and connecting people online. And we need that more than ever. We’re launching a new, online “semester” of classes and we’re looking for professors.

How it Works

We’ll be supporting and publicizing classes this spring that professors want to offer online. There are a number of ways to do that, from streaming live on Facebook to doing live chat or a recorded video or webinar. We’ll work with professors to pick the best setup.

Taking Classes

Taking classes will be a little bit different than regular Bethel University events. You sign up to take a class and you’ll get a link or info for how to join in online. We’ll post classes on a rolling basis, and send email updates on new events.

As usual, all classes will be free. You’ll just need an internet connection and device. We understand that not everyone can connect online and some of our crew is working to help provide social opportunities to those who aren’t. But for now, we’ll start with classes geared toward those who can get online.

Teaching Classes

We’ve set up a new course proposal form and invite anyone interested to submit a course idea.

In our first phase, we’re looking for classes that:

• are taught by profs who are comfortable with online/video platforms already (like Zoom or Facebook live) and will need minimal support

• meet a particular need during this epidemic (helping people navigate isolation, coaching on using online platforms, offerings for kids who are being homeschooled, resilience skills like planting gardens or herbal medicine, meet-up groups that help people connect and reduce isolation or process what’s going on)

Interested? Start by filling out our quick form.
